"Watershed" is a solo for low E double seconds written in the spring of 2021. With some motifs being written in 2016, this piece has been waiting a long time to be complete. The aesthetic is not of calypso or soca, but calm motions that flow like swirling water. The 7th chord motif is one that moves the work forward while still remaining harmonically stagnant, just like water flowing down a river. The glasslike water on top shows calmness and reflection, while the water below is moving and teeming with life. This is a reflection on the nature of life as a student, and is one last effort to find stasis in turbulence. This was my first solo pan work written.

Difficulty: Medium (great for high school and college steel pan players)
