YouTube Sample All Solos

This book contains 6 intermediate-level solos. There are 3 unaccompanied solos and 3 solos that include a backing track. Each solo that has a backing track includes a QR code at the top. This will link to a playlist that includes the track on Youtube for quick access when you don't have the tracks downloaded nearby.

***NOTE*** There is a book called "24 Intermediate Steelpan Solos" which contains 24 intermediate-level solos. It includes 6 solos for each of the following steel band voices: Tenor, Double Second, Triple Guitar/Cello, and Six Bass. These solos are included in that collection. Each instrument has 3 unaccompanied solos and 3 solos that include a backing track.

Note from Jordan: This is the logical next step after my 40 Short Solos book. This book picks up where that book left off and is great for anyone who is learning the steel drum, taking lessons, wants some different material, or craves a new challenge on their instrument(s). I continue to utilize solos like these with my students to meet the needs of those who want an additional challenge outside of our full band material. The QR code on each solo with track makes it easy for students to access the track even when I'm not around. I also use this as a way to brush up on my full band chops to get ready for a new school year. I think this is a great tool for any steel band director. Use it to feature student soloists on a concert, beef up your concerts with some more diverse genres represented, use it in lessons, or however else you decide.
