Popularized in 1966 by The Beach Boys on their album "Pet Sounds", Sloop John B has it's origin as a Bahamian folk song.   The melody is first stated with the lead pans and soon after  in the double seconds as "Yellow Bird" and "Jamaican Farewell" whispers are heard.   This arrangement is designed to teach basic Calypso and Soca rhythms for beginning ensembles.  Parts with note names are also included.
