Pan Army is Len "Boogsie" Sharpe’s 2010 Panorama composition written for and performed by the Phase II Pan Groove. Pan Army placed first in the preliminary and semi-final rounds of the competition, and placed second in the 2010 Trinidad Panorama Finals. This transcription represents “Boogsie” Sharpe’s Panorama arrangement exactly, but has been edited and adapted to fit the common range and configuration of the standard steelband – Tenor, Double Tenor, Double Seconds, Cello (Guitar), and Bass. This arrangement was a favorite throughout the islands of Trinidad & Tobago in 2010, and features a powerful and classic verse, a catchy syncopated chorus, and a mesmerizing minor blues jam section that many say represents some of “Boogsie’s” finest steelband writing ever. The ending finale section of this panorama arrangement is reminiscent of an anthem that just builds and builds into an inspiring and uplifting climax. Considered by many to be one of “Boogsie’s” true modern masterpieces, Pan Army is guaranteed be an arrangement that neither your band or your audience will ever forget.
