Difficulty: Easy (great for elementary school steel bands)

"Blue Pan" is a 12 Bar Blues chart. This chart was written to introduce students to how the 12 Bar Blues works using steel pans. Letter A introduces the chord structure through the double seconds, triple guitars, and bass pans. Letter B introduces the melody in the Jumbie Jam and Tenor parts. Letter C introduces a stop time where the low pans play only on the downbeat and the high pans play a contrasting melody. You can add a solo opportunity at letter D by dropping the jumbie jam and tenor parts and having a soloist play over the chord changes.
