Difficulty: Easy (great for elementary school steel bands)

"Dreams of a Steel Pan" is the melody I dreamed of while waiting for my professional Mannette double second steel pans. This lullaby does not have a drum set part. I encourage the director to conduct this piece from the front of the ensemble. This piece is an excellent opportunity for students to work on their soft dynamics when playing the steelpan. At letter F, the steel band decrescendos from piano while each part drops off until the tenor and jumbie jam is left. Make this moment magical by having students stay still until all the sound has disappeared.
