This original tune features a minor key and a spacious 12/8 Afro-Cuban/funk groove. Following the opening form and tenor solo section, the piece develops and builds intensity through chromatic figures, rhythmic jams, key modulations, and an improvisation section featuring the drum set and auxiliary percussionist. This would be a great work to finish a performance set or provide stylistic contrast within a program.
