Kaylon Alexis was born on September 8, 2003 in Trinidad and Tobago, home of the Steelpan. He is a soloist, arranger and composer. Currently, Kaylon is pursuing a Bachelors in Musical Arts at the University of the West Indies (UWI) where he previously obtained a certificate in music and 2 certificates in Japanese language.

His musical journey began at the age of 10 where he started learning how to play instruments, namely, the Steelpan and was a member of his school’s first ever Junior Panorama band. Kaylon proceeded to join the Steel Orchestra in his community where he learnt most of his vital skills. Over the years, he has developed his musical talent by performing at multiple events on many different stages. He has performed at Carifesta XIV, The National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), Center Of Excellence and Panorama which he participated in many times in various categories. At his high school, Kaylon was a co-founder of the music band which later turned into the Holy Cross College Steel Orchestra. Other than the steel pan, he has also played the Trumpet, African Drums, Harmonica, Chinese Dizi Flute, Kalimba and plans on expanding that list further. Aside from performing, he enjoys arranging and composing orchestral music.

His dream is to pursue his passion in its entirety, and to obtain a Doctoral Degree in Musical Arts. Kaylon’s goal is for his music to be spread throughout the world and to be a cultural ambassador of his country.
