Kevin Kinsall directs the Griswold High School “Steel Pandemonium” Steel Drum Band, string orchestra, concert band, jazz band, pit orchestra and chamber ensemble.  He arranges for “Steel Pandemonium” as well as coordinates student leaders to teach the pans to new and returning members.  Started in 2005, the steel band has grown from a fledgling group to an ensemble of over twenty five.  The group performs two major concerts per year and performs in many civic gigs.  Mr. Kinsall’s arrangements slightly differ from the traditional pan orchestra.  He has found that with his school’s group, the addition of rhythm guitar and electric bass fills out the sound but does not detract from the overall effectiveness of the “pan” experience.  That being said, his arrangements range from the “very easy” to “medium” difficulty and are fun to play and to listen to. 

Kevin Kinsall, an avid trumpet performer, is well versed in many different musical genres including classical, chamber, jazz and contemporary.  Mr. Kinsall has honed his skills as a performer since turning professional at the age of fifteen.  His formal music education started at the University of Connecticut where he earned a bachelor degree in music education and a master degree in music education.  Mr. Kinsall has had the honor of appearing with Boston Pops Orchestra, Philadelphia Pops Orchestra and has performed for dignitaries such as President H.W. Bush and French President François Miteran.
