Tyler Carpenter is very excited to join the team of arrangers at MauMauMusic! After receiving his bachelor's degree in Music Education from South Dakota State University, Tyler earned a master's degree in Music Performance from The University of Akron. During his tenure there, he performed with The University of Akron Steel Drum Band and studied steel pan performing and arranging with Matthew Dudack. Upon completion of his master's degree, Tyler ran a very successful percussion program at Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio, during which he founded the school's very popular steel band program. Tyler also ran the Utah Steel Band Festival with guest artist Liam Teague and helped start the steel band at Olivet University in Bourbonnais, Illinois in the Fall of 2019. Tyler is also an in-demand performer and educator in all areas of classical percussion, jazz, and electric bass.
