Bacchanal Lady is a steelband arrangement of the classic soca tune by legendary Trinidadian recording artist, David Rudder. This arrangement is based on the phrasing used by Len “Boogsie” Sharpe on his early steelpan recording, “Boogsie Meets the Rebels.” The flowing melody and classic calypso chord changes make for a strong grooving tune, and the bridge section features a slow dynamic build-up that climaxes back into the chorus and chorus variation, which is based on “Boogsie’s” bluesy soloing style. The arrangement also features an open solo section which is accessible to soloists of all levels of experience. This tune is a proven crowd pleaser that is as much fun to play as it is to listen to.
