Bazodee is a beautiful minor-key composition for steelband by Trinidadian legend, Ray Holman. Set in a medium-fast calypso groove, the tuneful melody and chorus are followed by a driving bridge section with lush descending harmonies in the lower pans. There is a solo section that is based on the chord changes from the verse and chorus that is perfect for a soloist who wants to explore and develop their improvisational skills. Arranged with parts that lay perfectly on the steelpans, Bazodee is a sophisticated minor-key chart with beautiful harmonic material that is both fun to play and exciting to hear.
