Crash is a challenging piece for advanced steelbands that highlights all the sections of the band throughout. Unexpected harmonic, dynamic, and rhythmic changes will keep the audience on their toes while also giving them time to groove along and enjoy the ride. 

Dynamic control, fluidity, and touch will be crucial to the success of this piece.

A note from Jordan: In an attempt to control something…anything during a time of overwhelm, I once again turned to my chosen vice…composition. Pouring emotion and intentionality into this piece gave me the pressure release I needed to regain a sense of control. The smooth controlled groove is my attempt to seem solid and deliberate while things wriggle free from my grip constantly. The urgency breaks free throughout the piece as the curveballs keep flying at me. 

Difficulty: Hard (great for high school & college steel bands)

Instrumentation: tenor/tenor 2-double tenor/double second/triple guitar/bass/drum set
