Croon is an almost 4-minute Crooner-style piece that is reminiscent of an old show-tune or jazz standard. This is a style I have always appreciated and admired. I thought it would sound beautiful in a steelband context but you should be the judge of that now!

There are 5 distinct phrases of music to learn in this piece. Dynamics are very important to the flow of this piece and to providing the form and flow overall. The melodic rhythms utilize whole, half, and quarter notes. The piece is swung but the only part that actually plays the swung 8th notes is the drum part which makes the piece accessible for bands who are not very experienced with swing time.
