The classic we all know in a soca-style setting that is sure to bring excitement to any birthday occasion! Perform it for your host at a performance, a good friend of the program, or for a student in your band who has a birthday on the same day as a rehearsal. Section B is open for solos. Encourage as many students as possible to perform a solo on their instrument (yes, including the bass!)

A few notes:

The form of the piece is straightforward. In Section B, repeat as many times as you wish. The Rock Star Ending is where the drum set player can throw in some fills and bring the piece to a dramatic end. Make sure to encourage them to still base their fills around the melody or chord changes.

Difficulty: Easy/Medium (great for junior high, high school, and college steel bands)

Instrumentation: tenor/double tenor/double seconds/cello-guitar/bass/drum set/percussion
