The Blue Cheese Blues is a mid tempo 12 Bar Blues that is perfect for teaching about the Blues, 12 bar blues, improvisation, tag endings, and call & response. The opening 12 bars is the foundation of the whole piece but it also gives multiple phrases to solo over (w/ a major blues scale for a jumping off point), and a call and response phrase in the middle to shake things up a bit and challenge the readers a bit more. This piece should be disassembled and reassembled as needed for your band or teaching needs.

The Blue Cheese Blues is only a real thing for those who don’t enjoy Blue Cheese. The realization that you were given blue cheese on your meal is not an enjoyable experience and can cause The Blue Cheese Blues to set in!
