Christopher Belich is a native of Duluth, MN, and graduated from The College of St. Scholastica with a B.A. in Percussion Performance focusing largely on steel pan performance and composition.  Working as a freelance percussionist, Chris has experience both in performing professionally and teaching privately.  He has also traveled to Trinidad on several occasions, resulting in firsthand experience and a greater understanding of steel pan in its original soca and calypso styles.

Over the years, Chris’s experiences in numerous solo performances have led him to develop a unique compositional style that explores the capabilities of simultaneously providing both melody and accompaniment on the tenor pan.  Often finding inspiration from water, and using elements of perpetual motion coupled with gently flowing melodies, his compositions provide a great musical experience for any percussionist.
